Cabochon Contests

To be eligible for the cabochon contest you must have at least one hour of shop time during the month of the contest. Bring your cab to the General Meeting for display. The winners will be chosen by popular vote at the general meeting and will receive free shop time as their prize.

The 2026 Cabochon contest will be a Nevada Only or Certain Size/Shape. We hope you will enjoy the challenge.

Below are each months theme.

Jan - Nevada collected - Fluorite

Feb - Small size – length/width 5 mm or smaller

Mar - Nevada collected - Wonderstone

Apr - Nevada collected - Turquoise/variscite

May - Medium size – length/width 30 mm maximum

Jun - Nevada collected - Jasper or Agate

Jul - Nevada collected - Petrified Wood

Aug - Asymmetrical, Free Form or Shaped (heart, cross, teardrop,star, crescent etc)

Sep - Nevada collected – Obsidian (any color)

Oct - Large size – length/width more than 30 mm

Nov - Nevada collected - Rhyolite

Dec - No Contest
